So you have a super cute fountain pen but the ink ran out! We have options on how you can refill your favorite writing tool.
For quick and easy refills use the pre-filled cartridges. These ink refills last about as long as a typical pen, and allow you to reuse your pen again and again! Each pack contains 6 pre-filled cartridges.
The even lower waste option is to use a converter and a bottle of ink to refill your pen! The squeeze converter is compatible with the Sport and Liliput series of Kaweco fountain pens, and the syringe converter is compatible only with the Sport (out of the 2 types of Kaweco pense we carry).
Use and care
Pre-filled cartridge
To load into your Kaweco fountain pen, press firmly to puncture, allowing ink to flow.
Compatible with only the Sport fountain pens. Unscrew the tip of the pen from the body and pull out any other cartridge. Push the converter into the hole where the standard cartridge usually goes.
Materials
The pre-filled ink cartridges have a small plastic casing to prevent leakage.
The liliput squeeze converter is a small plastic sack with a metal head.
The sport mini converter is a small plastic cartridge with a metal head and metal syringe pump.
Packaging
Pre-filled cartidges: small recyclable paper box.
Liliput squeeze converter: small paper envelope.
Sport mini converter: small paper envelope.
30ml ink bottle: plastic cap and glass bottle.
Origin
Sourced from Kaweco, a high quality German company, through a US distributor.
End of life
The pre-filled cartridge should last about as long as a typical pen. When the ink is used up, the cartridge is disposable and sent to landfill. However, this pack of 6 replacement ink cartridges prevents about 6 disposable pens from being sent to landfill, meaning a lot less plastic waste!
The liliput and sport mini converter are made to last and be reused but at the end of life the metal can be pulled apart and recycled and the plastic will go to landfill.
30ml ink bottle can be recycled or upcycled.
