Keep all your zero waste containers sparkling clean with this durable and sustainable brush.
This elegant wooden bottle brush features durable coconut fibers that are ideal for cleaning water bottles, baby bottles, glasses, jars, vases, coffee and tea pots and any vessel with a narrow opening.
This brush is naturally antibacterial, and it has been safely tested to be non-scratching on thousands of surfaces. However, test a small area before use - certain materials such as soft or low quality plastic in particular are more prone to scratching and we cannot ensure it won't scratch every surface.
Use and care
Insert the brush end into a bottle or another vessel and gently scrub the inside with soap and water. Rinse.
Store the brush upright and avoid letting it sit in water for extended periods of time, as this can cause the bristles and handle to deteriorate more quickly.
Brush measures 13"; Bristles are 6" x 2" wide.
FSC certified wood handle - made from the wood of rubber trees at the end of their life in a plantation.
Recyclable metal wire.
The bristles are made from sustainably farmed coconut husks which is the outside of dried coconuts.
Contains no plastic or toxic chemicals.
Made sustainably and ethically in Sri Lanka. Sourced from EcoCoconut a company dedicated to a completely plastic-free product line, down to their shipping and packaging materials! They take care in the sourcing of every material used in their products.
End of life
Reuse the brush for cleaning around the house if it no longer seems fit for bottles. Later, untwist the wire to separate bristles for compost. Separate the wire from the brush to recycle, and compost the wooden handle.
I like to reuse old kombucha bottles for my DIY nut milks and other drinks at home, but I couldn't get them thoroughly cleaned with a regular dish brush. This thing gets through the narrow mouth (about an inch wide), and reaches all the way to the bottom! The curved end allows me to scrub the bottoms and sides of the inside of the bottle really well. The bristles are on the stiffer side, so it has good scrubbing power and I think it should last me a long time. I'm also just amazed that there's no plastic whatsoever and the whole thing can be composted & recycled (the wire). I had never found something like it before, so I'm stoked!
I bought this because the bottom of my water bottles were starting to look crusty, and this was unfortunately a purchase I ended up regretting. It smells awful and it doesn't work well as a bottle cleaner. I also tried to research on the company and it seems a bit sketchy... I could not find anything about how and by who these products were actually made by. I hope EcoCollective looks into this and finds a better bottle brush to supply.
