If you purchase bulk products in mason jars from us, you are eligible for our jar return program!
You can purchase bulk products in mason jars from us for local delivery, store pickup, or eventually in-store purchases. The take back program allows us to sanitize and reuse the mason jars again and again, creating a safe, zero waste system for getting you your bulk products!
Each product from our bulk section that is packaged in a mason jar includes a $2 refundable jar deposit fee, as indicated when you purchase the product on our site.
How to return your jars
To return your jars, please bring clean, dry jars with the original lids back to our store during our store pickup hours (Mon, Wed, Fri, Sun 11am-2pm) at our Ballard, Seattle storefront, located at 5309 22nd Ave NW, Ste B, Seattle WA 98107. We will sanitize and reuse them!
The process will be like the reverse of our contactless store pickups - just place the jars on the wine barrel outside our door, and our store associate will check the jars to make sure they're in good condition.
There is no time limit on returning your jars - reuse them at home as much as you want, and return them whenever!
Donate your deposit fee to a local organization
When you return your jars, we now are offering the option to donate your jar deposit fee to Got Green, a Seattle organization fighting for environmental justice in our community. We may periodically rotate organizations which we donate to! The process for this is simple - just return the clean, dry jars and tell our store associate you'd like to donate your deposit fee(s)!
Here's some background information about Got Green, from their 2019 Annual Report:
Got Green is a force at the intersection of environmental, racial, and economic justice in Seattle since 2008. Got Green is building grassroots power to advance the creation of climate resilient communities. We envision healthy and resilient communities where people are able to: (1) work meaningful jobs that nourish our earth, our communities, and our souls; (2) eat affordable, healthy food that is grown with dignity for workers and the environment; (3) live in safe and sustainable housing, rooted in climate resilient neighborhoods; (4) and care for our environment in our relationship to the land, the climate, and each other. We figyt for this vision by organizing working-class families and communities of color in South Seattle.
Receive a refund for your jar deposit fee
To receive a refund, you must come prepared with your name and order number for the order(s) you got your jars from. Refunds will be issued to the original payment method, or once we reopen, you'll have the option to apply the refund as a credit to your next purchase.
Thank you for participating in this system to reduce and reuse!
