Mason jar return program

Beginning March 29th, 2021, mason jar returns will be accepted by appointment at our Ballard warehouse. 

March 28th was our last day in our brick-and-mortar Ballard storefront, and we are now shifting our business fully online. You can read FAQs about the store closure here

We will accept jar returns by appointment through June 30 at our Ballard warehouse, just a few blocks away from the storefront. You can sign up for an appointment or email us if you have any questions. 

If you’ve purchased bulk products in mason jars from us, you are eligible for our jar return program!

This jar return program allowed us to operate our in-store bulk bar in accordance with COVID-19 regulations, allowing us to sanitize and reuse the mason jars again and again.Each product purchased from our store bulk section and packaged in a mason jar included a $2 jar deposit fee. You are eligible to receive a refund or store credit for the deposit amount through June 30th by making an appointment to return your jars to our warehouse. We will find ways to reuse the jars to give them new life, but you are also welcome to keep the jars, if you would like!

How to return your jars

Please make an appointment to drop off your jars. We schedule 15 minute time slots for returns, and ask that you make your appointment at least 24 hours in advance. You will receive the address of our warehouse in the confirmation email. (It’s just a couple blocks away from our storefront!) If you have any questions about the scheduling process, please email us at support@ecocollective.com.

At the time of your appointment, please bring clean, dry jars with the original lids to the address provided in your email. You can knock on our warehouse door, or call us at (206) 607-4696 when you arrive. We will greet you at the door to collect your jars.A refund (to original form of payment) or store credit will be issued following receipt of the jars, and you will receive an email notification when the refund/ credit has been applied.

Receive a refund or store credit for your jar deposit fee

To receive a refund, you must include your name and original order number when you sign up for an appointment. Refunds will be issued to the original payment method. If you are unable to locate your order number, we can offer you store credit.

We only accept mason jars that originated from our bulk bar jar return program, and are unable to issue refunds or credit for any outside mason jars.

Donate your deposit fee to a local organization!

We also offer the option to donate your jar deposit fee to Got Green, a Seattle organization fighting for environmental justice in our community. The process for this is simple - just return the clean, dry jars and tell our store associate you'd like to donate your deposit fee(s)!
