Cleansing Clay Mask for Oily Skin

This deep-cleansing clay mask balances natural oil levels and leaves your skin feeling fresh and clear. Packed with powerful clays and topped with soothing aloe vera powder, this clay blend can be used as an all-over face mask or as a spot treatment.

The base of the blend is a trio of clays that work together to effectively cleanse and balance the skin: bentonite clay is known for its powerful pore cleansing properties, french green clay helps tighten pores, and gentle kaolin white clay helps soothe inflammation. Activated Charcoal and Cocoa Powder enter the mix to exfoliate and help heal blemishes, while aloe vera powder offers a hydrating, soothing, and restorative finish to the blend.

Use & Care

Pour about a tablespoon or two of the mask into a ceramic or glass bowl. Add water, witch hazel, rosewater toner, or any binder you wish. Mix with a makeup brush until the consistency is almost the thickness of yogurt. Avoid any metals, as some say these can deactivate the properties of clay.

Apply the mixture all over your face, except for directly underneath and around your eyes. You'll want to go no higher than your cheekbone, as the under-eye area can be very sensitive. The mask can also be used as a spot treatment, as an option for those with more sensitive skin. Leave on for five to eight minutes, and as soon as it dries, wash off with warm water and a washcloth.

We recommend patch testing this product for skin sensitivity, especially for those with sensitive skin.

The bag is fairly air tight, but you may wish to transfer to a glass jar for safekeeping. We recommend a patch test on your wrist to make sure you are not sensitive to any of these ingredients.
