This is my second time purchasing this toothpaste, I love it! I had tried Lush tooth tabs, Toms toothpaste, and tooth powder. The lush products and tooth powder made my teeth sensitive. My dental hygienist commented that charcoal tooth powder can change the pH in your mouth and harm your teeth. The Toms toothpaste I wasn’t a fan of the taste, and I couldn’t locate a Toms recycling program near me. The David’s toothpaste is AWESOME. No sensitivity, the consistency is like normal toothpaste, and the peppermint is very pleasant and not an “earthy tasting” peppermint. My only comment is that when you are done with the toothpaste, it’s a little tricky to cut the packaging apart to clean it before recycling. The edges are sharp and the key makes the tube so flat that you can’t easily cut the side to clean the inside out. I’m happy to do it to reduce my waste, but something to be mindful of. So happy to discover this toothpaste!
I love the rolling key to make sure you get as much toothpaste out of the tube as possible. I also love that the metal tube is recyclable, although the plastic cap is not (in my town) due to its small size. The flavor is not a minty as a traditional Crest or Colgate toothpaste, but still refreshing and probably preferable for those of you who are not fans of mint. I am not sure if it is dentist-recommended - I plan to bring it up with my dentist next time I go in and make sure I am making a healthy choice as well as en environmentally conscious one! The price is admittedly pretty high for a tube of toothpaste, although hopefully it will last a long time, especially with the rolling key. I may post an update to this review with information on how long one tube lasts (brushing 2x a day) and what my dentist says about this product. Be well!
I love this toothpaste! It has a fresh taste and great consistency, and the tube key is such a plus to use all the product. One of my favorite swaps to date.
Love these simply because they are zero waste and still have fluoride in them!
I've been using all natural toothpaste for several years now, so I am used to toothpaste that does not foam up and is more watery like these tablets. I love the fact that they aren't liquid, which makes plane travel and camping a breeze! I chew them a bit on one side of my mouth and then chew a bit on the other size of my mouth. When I begin brushing there are still chucks of the tablet that dissolve as I brush. I find this helps distribute the toothpaste more evenly across all my teeth! Highly recommend giving this product a try. Ditch those nasty wasteful toothpaste tubes and enjoy the multitude of benefits these tablets offer.
I've tried a bunch of "zero waste" toothpastes/diys/tabs. I'm so glad these have fluoride in them. When I was using fluoride-free (which is most zero waste toothpastes), I actually got a few cavities that cost a ton of money (and waste) to fix. My teeth also were so sensitive. It hurt to drink water.
Since switching back to a fluoridated option, my teeth aren't sensitive anymore, and I know I'm preventing cavities. I like the packaging of these ones as it is completely compostable. Although I don't love the feel when I bite on these to crush them (it does feel chalkier than I'd like), what's nice is that they completely break down into dust without leaving any larger particles. It feels like more of a true paste in my mouth rather than a powder. They clean my teeth really well, and these are probably the most breath-freshening ones I've tried, although it's more menthol than mint. I'd buy these again for sure.
These tablets work well to clean my teeth and the essential oils give it a great taste so my mouth feels fresh and clean.
I especially love the fact that there is no waste when the tablets are finished.
I’ve tried to like these. My boyfriend does so I’ll make these his toothpaste. I’m going to order another brand, I cannot get over how chalky they are. They won’t foam at all. I understand foam doesn’t always mean clean but it leaves something to be desired. I don’t feel this helps freshen my breath or clean my teeth very well. I wish they worked for me the packaging is great.
This has been my first time using a ayurvedic tongue scraper and I’m never going back. It’s been so much more effective than using my toothbrush. Personally, I’ve found it removes build up and keeps my breath fresher longer.
After the first time my partner saw me use it, he wanted to buy one too! Highly recommend if you’re considering investing in one!
Scrapes stuff from my tongue effectively. It also looks great. After a few months, I bought another one for my wife.
I have used a tongue scraper for years but they have always been the cheap plastic ones. This is a great product. I have been using it for the past month and feel a lot cleaner. I used the plastic one i still had, and found that my mouth didn't feel nearly as clean. I highly recommend this one over a plastic one that you have to replace every month or so. This one is easy to clean and sterilize. Its worth the extra few dollars, in 2 months you've already got your moneys worth.
Never used this before. I’m addicted now. No bad breath complaints so far!
I had tried the silk floss previously (review below) and liked it very much. I have to say that I think I like the vegan corn floss even better. I do have some tight spaces in my teeth, so it's a little challenging there, but for the most part it is strong and works well. It has more of a dental tape feeling than the silk floss.
This is for the vegan refills.
I really like this floss. It's not too thick or abrasive on my teeth, but it doesn't totally shred before I'm done flossing like the geoorganics one. I do have a couple spots in my teeth that are close together that do pull on this a bit, but this floss doesn't totally break and get stuck in my teeth. I find I can just move spots on the floss instead for those parts.
It’s just so cute and useful
I bought silk floss refills with the glass dispenser and it works really well. I love the aesthetics of the glass dispenser, too. I plan to try the corn floss next.
Refillable floss that's biodegradable is great, but the corn floss breaks pretty much every other time I use it. I'll probably stick with it, but it does take some getting used to.
I mean, can you really go wrong? This toothbrush is perfect for just about anyone, seriously. They last a month or two and they are almost fully compostable, what's no to love? <3
I generally prefer a medium bristle but couldn't find one (anywhere I looked) -- this works just as well, though! Adult size. Happy to be replacing my plastic toothbrushes. Would recommend!
I really love the handle of the toothbrush. It feels very stable in my hand. The bristles are nice and soft, but they don't fall apart in my mouth. It also gets my teeth really clean.
Toothbrush looks great and the handle feels good, however the bristles are pretty hard! I’d say they are more firm than my old plastic toothbrush which was labeled “medium”. Unfortunately, this brush does hurt my gums quite a bit. Also, I wish there was a different color option to avoid confusion with other members of the household. My husband’s has a charming piece of blue painters tape on his.
Everything I need in a toothbrush. I wish the bristles could be compostable, but it's still great to have a fully compostable bamboo handle. It feels nice in my hand, and I think that these toothbrushes actually last longer than "regular" plastic ones (at least, I haven't noticed the bristles starting to wear down yet like a plastic toothbrush's bristles would by this time. When do you REALLY need to replace a bamboo toothbrush, anyway?)
I was sad to find out this gum is only offered in the cane sugar version. Chewing sugary gum will cause serious dental issues over a few months. I like the eco friendly aspect and natural ingredients but if this could be offered in a birch-sourced xylitol version, it would have much more to offer. Cavities are no joke, so this gum is supposed to be healthy but it’s pretty risky!
Tastes great and love that it’s nearly zero waste :)
