Over 2 billion disposable plastic razors are thrown out each year in the U.S. alone.  A safety razor is a fantastic alternative to disposable razors, and this one can last you a lifetime.  This attractive stainless steel razor is appropriate for all your shaving needs, regardless of your gender.

Use and care

Allow the weight of the razor to guide you; never press down with the razor head or drag it across your skin like you might with a disposable razor. Use a shaving soap for best results.  When you follow these tips, you'll have a cleaner, safer shave. To travel, simply remove the blade. Dry off the razor after each use and replace the blade when it becomes dull; Bea Johnson says her sons take the razor head apart to let the blade dry after every shave, and the blades last them for an impressive 6 months!

The safety razor should last a lifetime if you take care of it properly.

Replacement blades can be sharpened with denim and eventually recycled.

We recommend collecting used blades in a closed metal container for safety since they are sharp and could be hazardous to you or anyone else handling them on their way to be recycled. Blades fit well in our 2 oz screw top tin, or you can use something you have at home.

To recycle the blades, we have a few suggestions...

1. An easy catch-all option is to ship them to Albatross Designs (PO Box 2254 Berkeley, CA 94702), a company that recycles used razor blades - just be sure to double-envelope them or ship the closed tin of blades so they don't cut through the envelope.
2. You can also check with your local recycling collection service to ask if it's alright to put the closed container of blades directly in the recycling bin. Some are okay with it, and others aren't!
3. Another option is to take your tin of blades directly to a nearby scrap metal recycler.

These natural wool dryer balls replace dryer sheets and reduce drying time by about 30%. By bouncing around in the dryer, they create air pockets that maximize air flow, speeding up the drying process. They also reduce wrinkles and static. Comes in a set of 3.

We recommend using at least 3 dryer balls for a normal load of laundry, but you can always add more to increase the benefits! 

You can scent dryer balls with a few drops of essential oils like lavender and eucalyptus for a fresh scent.

Use and care

Put three dryer balls in with each load of clothes in the dryer along with your wet laundry. Using them will reduce drying time, soften, and fluff up your clothes, towels and sheets.

Add a few drops of lavender, pine, or any other favorite essential oil to the wool dryer ball before the laundry cycle for an uplifting natural scent!

Don't wash them with your regular load unless you are cleaning them.

To store them between dryer loads, we suggest using a cloth bag or a simple jar or other container in your laundry room.

This all-natural toothpaste is designed to whiten, remove plaque, and freshen breath. It's the first natural toothpaste that we've found that has that old-fashioned mint taste. Keep the planet happy and keep your smile minty fresh. 

Use and care

Store at a fairly consistent temperature. Get every last bit of toothpaste out of the tube with the metal turn key inside. Slip it onto the edge of the tube, and slowly roll up the tube to dispense the amount of toothpaste you need.

In order to recycle the tube, you will need to clean the excess paste from the inside of the tube. Instructions from the brand below: 

1. Take some scissors or shears and cut off both ends of the tube.
2. Cut a slit the full length of the tube to fold open the tube to access the inside of the tube for cleaning....the edges of metal are sharp, so please be careful.
3. Wash off the excess paste with running water.... a toothbrush can be helpful here for removing all the paste.
4. Discard metal in recycle bin. It will be up to your local waste management provider to properly sort/recycle as we do not currently take back used tubes for recycling.

At the end of its life, these toothbrushes can be reused as a cleaning brush or a makeup tool like a brow brush. The handle can be composted, and the bristles are the most advanced bio-based option available, but they're still not biodegradable (pig hair is the only alternative, and it's highly controversial), but they can be recycled anywhere that recycles nylon. Since this floss is biodegradable, it can be a bit more prone to breakage than regular plastic floss; it can sometimes break between very tight spots between your teeth. Reusable cloth wipes are a simple reusable swap for those who often find themselves reaching for tissues, face wipes, baby wipes, or even, yes, toilet paper. They can be used with water or a diaper solution to create a familiar wet wipe!

These wipes are great to have around for any application such as removing makeup, cleaning off hands, using as a handkerchief, and are a perfect gift for the expecting mama. They are made of 100% cotton flannel and get softer with each wash. 

They are a more sustainable alternative to disposable wipes which are often made of synthetic fibers and do not biodegrade. These wipes can be used again and again; when they are dirty, just throw them in the washer and dryer. Plus, no need to frequently run to the store to restock!

They are also safe in the microwave, so you can use them to cover dishes while cooking.  Each set comes with 12 wipes. The durable but thin fabric allows these wipes to fold up small, making them easy to pack in your bag, and quick drying.

Bee's Wrap lasts for up to a year with proper care and regular usage. For best results, let dry when not in use by hanging from the metal hook at end of handle or storing in a jar with bristles upright. Avoid any long soaks.

The bristles will soften over time but retain their scrubbing power, and you can replace the head when it starts to wear out. Boil to sterilize when needed.

The brush head will naturally loosen from the wires over time with use, so it starts off very tight - it's normal for brand new brush heads to not come off easily. When you are ready to remove the brush head to compost it, we recommend pushing the metal loop down towards the handle to loosen the grip of the wires.

The pod membrane is a biodegradable, water soluble film made of polyvinyl alcohol. When the film dissolves in your washer and enters the water stream in microparticles, micro-organisms that commonly exist in nature break down the PVA (polyvinyl alcohol) to water and carbon dioxide.

Use and care

Dishwasher safe - just don't flip the bag inside out, it can compromise the bag's sealed edges.

Safe for use in the microwave, with a sous vide machine, a standard oven, or a pot of boiling water — up to 400F.

TSA-approved for flying with carry-on liquids. The clear window on every Stasher bag offers a view of contents, making them appropriate to pass airport security with travel-size liquids.

Because Stasher doesn't use any toxic sealants, the silicone can sometimes stain with certain foods. To remove stains, make a baking soda paste with vinegar or water, apply to discolored container, let sit for at least 20–30 mins, then rinse and wash the bag like normal, or leave the bag in the sun for a natural stain remover.

Use and care

Rinse with cold water after each use; do not use warm water or soap as this will begin to strip the wax from the cloth. Let dry and fold or roll to store.

End of Life

Bee's Wrap lasts for up to a year with proper care and regular usage. You'll know your wrap has reached the end of its useful life in the kitchen when it has worn thin and soft and has trouble sticking to itself. At this time, you can cut your wrap into strips and add to your compost pile, or use as a natural and effective fire starter.
