Everything I need in a toothbrush. I wish the bristles could be compostable, but it's still great to have a fully compostable bamboo handle. It feels nice in my hand, and I think that these toothbrushes actually last longer than "regular" plastic ones (at least, I haven't noticed the bristles starting to wear down yet like a plastic toothbrush's bristles would by this time. When do you REALLY need to replace a bamboo toothbrush, anyway?)
I've tired other bamboo toothbrushes but these are my favorite as of right now. The bristles stay in place, they are sturdy but not too hard that they hurt. I've noticed my teeth feeling extra clean. The handle is smooth and I'm not afraid of it splintering. Plus they are super affordable.
I wasn't sure how I would like a bamboo toothbrush, but I've been using it for a couple weeks and I love it! Won't be going back to plastics.
This is the cheapest and best quality bamboo brush I’ve found, bristles are decent strength too. I gave 4 stars just because I wish they would find a way to make the bristles compostable.
Good brush strength
This is my second time purchasing this toothpaste, I love it! I had tried Lush tooth tabs, Toms toothpaste, and tooth powder. The lush products and tooth powder made my teeth sensitive. My dental hygienist commented that charcoal tooth powder can change the pH in your mouth and harm your teeth. The Toms toothpaste I wasn’t a fan of the taste, and I couldn’t locate a Toms recycling program near me. The David’s toothpaste is AWESOME. No sensitivity, the consistency is like normal toothpaste, and the peppermint is very pleasant and not an “earthy tasting” peppermint. My only comment is that when you are done with the toothpaste, it’s a little tricky to cut the packaging apart to clean it before recycling. The edges are sharp and the key makes the tube so flat that you can’t easily cut the side to clean the inside out. I’m happy to do it to reduce my waste, but something to be mindful of. So happy to discover this toothpaste!
I love the rolling key to make sure you get as much toothpaste out of the tube as possible. I also love that the metal tube is recyclable, although the plastic cap is not (in my town) due to its small size. The flavor is not a minty as a traditional Crest or Colgate toothpaste, but still refreshing and probably preferable for those of you who are not fans of mint. I am not sure if it is dentist-recommended - I plan to bring it up with my dentist next time I go in and make sure I am making a healthy choice as well as en environmentally conscious one! The price is admittedly pretty high for a tube of toothpaste, although hopefully it will last a long time, especially with the rolling key. I may post an update to this review with information on how long one tube lasts (brushing 2x a day) and what my dentist says about this product. Be well!
I love this toothpaste! It has a fresh taste and great consistency, and the tube key is such a plus to use all the product. One of my favorite swaps to date.
Love ‘em. Fun patterns. Great gifts. Thanks!
I use these all the time instead of sponges, rags, or paper towels for wiping counters and surfaces. They don't smell, they stay sturdy, and they can be cleaned and sanitized to extend their life even further.
I love these for mopping up spills, drying dishes, and cleaning countertops. They seem much more sanitary than dish/cleaning rags and don't carry a musty smell.
I didn’t want to write a review till I had used it for a bit. It’s been several months now and I can say it works and I like it! I have VERY dry and sensitive skin in the area where my under arm is and a long my upper rib area. This hasn’t irritated it or anything! I enjoy it! Recommend(:
This works amazingly well. After using natural deodorant for about two years I sometimes feel like I need to switch products to maintain efficacy. This worked great right from the first use. Glad I found it to add to my arsenal.
It also looks really pretty in my bathroom.
Like a lot of the reviews on here, I started off as a very skeptical person- how could rubbing a rock under my arms do a thing? After getting off to a misunderstood start where I didn't realize you were supposed to WET the stone slightly before applying it, I have been shocked at how well it works. My partner is now tired of me running up to her and forcing her to smell my armpits while grinning and saying "Still working!" There has been no change (ie no rash, etc) other than an astounding lack of smell. I don't know that it works for EVERY body, but it works for my body.
- Definitely wet this a little to make it work, otherwise it's both less comfortable to apply and ineffective.
- If I put it on when my armpits are not newly cleaned, the scent level that was there before still lingers. So, unless I'm fresh out of the shower, I know I can expect to be a little smelly.
- If you are the kind of person whose body needs to adjust to a new product AND you're staying at home because of COVID-19... This is your chance to try it out with no societal judgement!
I have to admit . . . I was a bit skeptical on this product. But I didn't have good experience with the more traditional deodorant that came in a cardboard push-up tube - that left me with itchy armpits from time to time. This stone works!!! And no itch!!! Who'd a thunk ;-)
I don't know where to begin with beside just YES! YES this product is amazing, YES I would recommend it! I suffer from coconut allergies, and it is very difficult to find products without it. I've tried about 4 or 5 natural deodorants and none of them actually worked with covering odor besides Tom's but the problem was the coconut additive. So the search began. I heard about the alum stone and was intrigued by the idea and the fact that it has nothing in it, besides what the actual stone is! I figured at this point anything is worth trying. I'm on day 11 of using it and can I just say, HOLY SH*T! I wish I knew about this sooner, like 10 years ago sooner haha. I'm a rather sweaty person and although I still have a little moisture it does not sit there like it would with other deodorants and with lots of sweat comes odor. NOPE. I can honestly say that I think other deodorants that have so many ingredients (even if natural) cause more sweat to build up and get stuck and cause odor. I was just using Meow Meow Tweet deodorant and it made me smell worse than I did before even putting it on. This stone is wizardly and I can't get enough.
These are great! Better quality then expected. I was able to wrap them around my current paper towel holder and it works great. Will be ordering more colors soon.
I received my Lemon Unpaper towels and I love them! They’re so soft and cheerful, plus I’ll be saving money by not purchasing the paper ones. The customer service department is very responsive and kind to work with.
I can’t recommend these enough. I got two sets of the lemon patterned towels and love how they brighten the room. I use them for every meal and for cleaning surfaces, and then toss them with my laundry to clean them. So far, I’ve found that stains come out effortlessly. These are easily one of my favorite purchases of 2020!
These are lovely, I bought 2 packs of 12. After a few washes they have become pretty absorbent, I did have to use a lint brush or fabric shaver after the first wash, as they shed a bit. I put a bin under our sink to collect the used ones, and we wash them about every 2 days or so. Overall these are such a wonderful alternative to regular paper towels, which my family was using a shameful amount of daily. I think we will get a lot of use out of these.
We ordered the lemon pattern and they’re quite beautiful. Cheerful addition to the kitchen. They work well for our needs and are absorbent which is exactly what we wanted.
I'm really excited to use these reusable face wipes. I love the wooden container for them! I have a small mesh bag that I put the used ones in for laundry. I was disappointed that the clothes were white and not colorful like the picture but it just means I will have to order more!!
Facial rounds are really soft and strong, much better than disposables. Happy to be making another step towards zero waste!
This is one of the easiest zero-waste swaps you can make. I love them and use them everyday to remove makeup from under my eyes or apply toner. They’re super soft and can be used multiple times before washing. They also get softer after you wash them a few times! Liked them so much I bough then as Christmas gifts for friends.
You won’t be disappointed!!
So glad I got these! I have been trying to cut down on my single-use products and these are amazing!
I have a mess of thick curly hair, and I do not shampoo frequently unless I want to resemble a poodle. I have used this bar sparingly over the past month and it leaves a beautiful shine on my hair, my hair is actually soft instead of wiry and after drying, my halo of frizzies are noticeably softer and tamer. I just ordered the curly hair conditioner to use with this, and I think the results are going to be even more fabulous/define my curls more. Highly recommend!
I recently purchased the shampoo bar and have used it 4 times. Unfortunately it makes my hair feel really greasy and dull so I don’t like it:( maybe my husband will like it, thanks anyway 😊
Recently re-purchased the Lovely Rita shampoo bar for curly hair. I am Black and wear my hair naturally curly, and have found that this shampoo bar works great for me. If you're like me and don't wash your hair every time you shower -- or, if you have roommates who also use the shower but don't share shampoo -- I would suggest that you don't store the bar in the shower, even on a wire rack. Even just a little water getting on it during each shower will dissolve it faster. With my second bar, I've been storing it like this (https://bit.ly/2Rt9oOg), and I can already tell that it will last much longer this time.
This bar cleans well, doesn't dry my hair and smells fabulous. But smell doesn't linger and isn't overwhelming. Love it. My hair is dead straight and I live in the desert SW. This shampoo bar works great for me. Plus, it's not encased in plastic and the little box it's shipped in is recyclable.
I tried shampoo and conditioner bars from Lush several years ago and hated them. They made my hair feel like straw and I was mortified when I realized how much artificial dye was in it! I avoided shampoo bars after that, but finally decided to give them another shot when I got tired of buying shampoo in plastic bottles that are full of sulfates, artificial coloring and fragrances, and who knows what else.
These shampoo bars are amazing!! I’ve been using the Lovely Rita Super Condition bar and my hair is so soft, moisturized, and shiny. My scalp used to be super dry, but since using this product, my scalp couldn’t be happier! Good for the earth, good for my body. I don’t think I’ll ever go back to conventional shampoos again.
I was excited to make the switch to this dental floss! The pros are that is is both vegan and compostable. The downsides are that it is pretty thick and that it breaks between some of my teeth. Those traits mean I will not be able to convince others in my house to use it, but I'll keep at it.
I just switched from using plastic to silk floss. The silk floss thread is a bit thicker than the plastic floss, but it's quick to get used to! Also very sturdy and hard to break.
Easy to use and works great.
Love this floss!
Love this floss! Super easy to put refill spools in the container, and it feels/works/everything just like "normal" floss that ends up in a landfill.
I’ve long been looking for a more sturdy hair tie that doesn’t break every couple of months and that’s zero waste. These hair ties ROCK, they stay true to shape and don’t stretch out which I absolutely love. Plus I have dark brown hair and so I like that I could buy some that blended in with my hair.
Wore one of these for an intense hour long workout. I have a thick head of hair so I fully expected it to crease as well as struggle to hold my hair, not only did my pony stay tight the entire time, but when I took it out, it didn't take any hair with it and best of all: NO CREASE!! Exceeded my greatest expectations.
Love these hair ties and went back for more!
I was so excited to pick up this razor from Eco Collective - it's great that they're still offering pick up during COVID. It was a quick & safe handoff & I took my razor home. I was very nervous my first time shaving & went very slowly but it turned out amazing! Didn't cut myself once & my legs were more smooth than I've ever been able to get them with a Venus razor. Since then I've been slowly getting more confident in my shaving abilities, have cut myself twice but it hasn't deterred me. The key, I think, is showering in hot water to relax your hair follicles, using lots of soap or shaving cream & not adding any weight to the razor. I take the pieces apart to let them dry after every use, and so far, no rust. I'm so happy I was able to buy from a local business and continue eliminating plastic from my life.
I was nervous about trying this, but I made it through my first shave without nicking myself and my legs feel SO SMOOTH! Love!
I had been very nervous to try the safety razor. I finally used all the razors I had on hand and decided it was time. It is a bit of an investment, at first. However, it is a high quality that should last you a life time and the blade replacements are so cheap! Before my first use, I watched a couple of YouTube videos on how to use properly and safely. I have found that short strokes with a delicate pressure works perfectly. I did nick my legs during the first use, but like I said there is a learning curve. My advice would be to use our when you have plenty of time to do it carefully. I take my razor apart are each use and rinse thoroughly and store in a dry place. This has proven to keep the razor and blade in top shape for long lasting use. Highly recommend!
It’s good for finer hair, but does not do a thorough job on thick hair. I’ve contacted the company about a return but have never heard back. Pretty disappointed in quality of product and service.
Fresh out of the package with a brand new blade, I tried shaving in the shower and the razor missed a lot of hair and took multiple times to get make the slightest difference, but still no clean shave. I tried shaving dry with no water, no shaving soap, just legs lightly lotioned, and it worked. Strange? Still playing around with it to make it work because this is the next step in my zero waste journey! Maybe I need some tips or tricks. As of right now, it works best out of the shower, and not the first blade in the package, but the second.
Ordered 3 bottles (two 8oz and one 1oz). They were exactly what we were looking for after an exhaustive search and they didn’t disappoint. They are stunning and we love them. Also, the handwritten note means a lot. Thank you guys!
Scrapes stuff from my tongue effectively. It also looks great. After a few months, I bought another one for my wife.
I have used a tongue scraper for years but they have always been the cheap plastic ones. This is a great product. I have been using it for the past month and feel a lot cleaner. I used the plastic one i still had, and found that my mouth didn't feel nearly as clean. I highly recommend this one over a plastic one that you have to replace every month or so. This one is easy to clean and sterilize. Its worth the extra few dollars, in 2 months you've already got your moneys worth.
Never used this before. I’m addicted now. No bad breath complaints so far!
I absolutely love the ability to fill up my handsoap dispensers right at Eco Collective in non-Covid19 times . . . but just as easy was purchasing this same soap in a returnable glass jar (deposit to be refunded) and filling up dispensers at all the sinks around my house. Wonderful! And great quality soap as well!
I like that it feels exfoliating, but not harsh on my skin. Great quality and very affordable. Once mine aged out, I kept it as a bath tub scrubber.
This was my first attempt at a plastic free dish washing tool. It took a few tries to kind of soften the loofah a bit and figure out how to use it, but overall I'm satisfied with how it cleans my dishes. It's definitely different from a kitchen sponge - it won't be super useful for wiping off surfaces but it does have more scrubbing power in my opinion. And it still holds onto soap. I'll probably buy one of the wood handle dish scrubbers when my loofah starts falling apart, but I'll happily compost it when that day comes :)
Good quality loofah & feels great to exfoliate my body with
I use mine as a shower loofah and it exfoliates wonderfully! Highly recommend.
This works great for cleaning dishes. I didn't like it as much for the shower but I will definitely be buying again for the kitchen.
