Over 2 billion disposable plastic razors are thrown out each year in the U.S. alone. A safety razor is a fantastic alternative to disposable razors, and this one can last you a lifetime. It’s unisex, easy to travel with, and reusable for a lifetime. Replacement blades are just $2.25 for a set of 10!
This kit comes with blades and a shave bar, which is perfect for a smooth, close shave. It's a great low-waste alternative to shaving gel - it creates a wonderfully thick lather and is packed full of moisturizing oils to leave your skin ultra-smooth. The soap base is two types of seaweed (oarweed, and kelp) which are nourishing and all natural.
The kit also includes a soap tin for storing your shave soap or packing it for travel.
Contents
This starter kit includes:

One stainless steel safety razor
Use and care
Razor and blades: Allow the weight of the razor to guide you; never press down with the razor head or drag it across your skin like you might with a disposable razor. Use a shaving soap for best results. When you follow these tips, you'll have a cleaner, safer shave. To travel, simply remove the blade. Dry off the razor after each use and replace the blade when it becomes dull; Bea Johnson says her sons take the razor head apart to let the blade dry after every shave, and the blades last them for an impressive 6 months!
Shave soap: Lather like a bar of soap, and spread as you would shaving cream, or swirl a shaving brush over the top to load and apply with a brush.

End of life
Use the shaving soap until completely gone, and re-use the soap tin again and again. The soap tin can be recycled if necessary.
The safety razor should last a lifetime if you take care of it properly.
Replacement blades can be sharpened with denim and eventually recycled.
We recommend collecting used blades in a closed metal container for safety since they are sharp and could be hazardous to you or anyone else handling them on their way to be recycled. Blades fit well in our 2 oz screw top tin, or you can use something you have at home.
To recycle the blades, we have a few suggestions...
- An easy catch-all option is to ship them to Albatross Designs (PO Box 2254 Berkeley, CA 94702), a company that recycles used razor blades - just be sure to double-envelope them or ship the closed tin of blades so they don't cut through the envelope.
- You can also check with your local recycling collection service to ask if it's alright to put the closed container of blades directly in the recycling bin. Some are okay with it, and others aren't!
- Another option is to take your tin of blades directly to a nearby scrap metal recycler.
