Everything I need in a toothbrush. I wish the bristles could be compostable, but it's still great to have a fully compostable bamboo handle. It feels nice in my hand, and I think that these toothbrushes actually last longer than "regular" plastic ones (at least, I haven't noticed the bristles starting to wear down yet like a plastic toothbrush's bristles would by this time. When do you REALLY need to replace a bamboo toothbrush, anyway?)
I've tired other bamboo toothbrushes but these are my favorite as of right now. The bristles stay in place, they are sturdy but not too hard that they hurt. I've noticed my teeth feeling extra clean. The handle is smooth and I'm not afraid of it splintering. Plus they are super affordable.
I wasn't sure how I would like a bamboo toothbrush, but I've been using it for a couple weeks and I love it! Won't be going back to plastics.
This is the cheapest and best quality bamboo brush I’ve found, bristles are decent strength too. I gave 4 stars just because I wish they would find a way to make the bristles compostable.
Good brush strength
Ive been having a hard time hydrating myself in quarantine, and a friend suggested I get a straw to trick myself into drinking more water (because apparently I'm a child lol). So instead of buying a pack of plastic ones, I bought 2 of these bad boys and I love them! Highly recommended
It's a good quality product and I like the mascara but I'm looking to be plastic free and there's a full plastic bottle inside of bamboo sleeve. So not only is there as much plastic as most other mascaras, they also used resources and energy to make the extra, frankly pointless, outer bamboo later. Feels like greenwashing to me. I do love their pressed foundation which is plastic free and refillable
I've been looking for more eco-conscious mascaras; although this does have a plastic tube inside, it has a bambo exterior, and seems for better than any non-plastic containers I've tried for mascara. It works very well, I've been using this mascara everyday and it has no irritation (as opposed to some mascara from other brands I've bought in the past). Would recommend!
This is a great mascara! Elate Cosmetics is the makeup I use and love it.
I'm so glad I bought this after reading the reviews. My hair is shoulder length, curly and quite thin. This is PERFECT for it! I finally have hydrated, voluminous locks that lasts for days. All those barely used bottles of shampoo and conditioner I no longer need will be repurposed as shaving cream until the end of time because I've finally found my holy grail hair care products. Thank you Eco Collective!!!! Also, I'm so elated to see it's local :)
Okay, so here's the deal... I have been on the lookout for a new conditioner bar. My hair is fine, straight, shoulder-length, but THICK. All of the bars I have tried...static. Static! So I did some research and found this one. I am soooo glad I did. Oh my gosh. Wonderful. Awesome. Such great moisture, no static, and great body. Did I mention, I live in New Mexico? Yeah, so there's that.
I am so pleased. Thank you.
I have tried many conditioner bars and this is the first time that actually gives my thick, wavy hair enough moisture. It's great!
I use this exclusively as my conditioner. I have very long tangly hair and this stuff does a great job keeping my hair hydrated and shiny. Lasts a really long time. I like that this bar doesn’t start crumbling and dissolving like other bars I’ve used. Smells good. Well-made product!
I'm really pleased with how well this bar conditions. My hair feels great--much nicer than with my previous, mass-produced conditioner, though I'd been happy with that before.
The one thing I'd note is that I disagree with the description of having a "subtle scent of cocoa butter." All I smell is the geranium essential oil, to a moderately strong degree (based on an earlier review I wonder if the product has changed, or maybe scents are really that subjective!). If you're looking for an unscented or low-scent product, this probably isn't it. But for a scented conditioner this really works wonderfully.
I recently purchased the shampoo bar and have used it 4 times. Unfortunately it makes my hair feel really greasy and dull so I don’t like it:( maybe my husband will like it, thanks anyway 😊
Recently re-purchased the Lovely Rita shampoo bar for curly hair. I am Black and wear my hair naturally curly, and have found that this shampoo bar works great for me. If you're like me and don't wash your hair every time you shower -- or, if you have roommates who also use the shower but don't share shampoo -- I would suggest that you don't store the bar in the shower, even on a wire rack. Even just a little water getting on it during each shower will dissolve it faster. With my second bar, I've been storing it like this (https://bit.ly/2Rt9oOg), and I can already tell that it will last much longer this time.
This bar cleans well, doesn't dry my hair and smells fabulous. But smell doesn't linger and isn't overwhelming. Love it. My hair is dead straight and I live in the desert SW. This shampoo bar works great for me. Plus, it's not encased in plastic and the little box it's shipped in is recyclable.
I tried shampoo and conditioner bars from Lush several years ago and hated them. They made my hair feel like straw and I was mortified when I realized how much artificial dye was in it! I avoided shampoo bars after that, but finally decided to give them another shot when I got tired of buying shampoo in plastic bottles that are full of sulfates, artificial coloring and fragrances, and who knows what else.
These shampoo bars are amazing!! I’ve been using the Lovely Rita Super Condition bar and my hair is so soft, moisturized, and shiny. My scalp used to be super dry, but since using this product, my scalp couldn’t be happier! Good for the earth, good for my body. I don’t think I’ll ever go back to conventional shampoos again.
I always wanted to know what was in season monthly and this is the guide! I have it on the same hook as the wall calendar and can refer to it when shopping and planning the garden!
I was nervous about trying this, but I made it through my first shave without nicking myself and my legs feel SO SMOOTH! Love!
I had been very nervous to try the safety razor. I finally used all the razors I had on hand and decided it was time. It is a bit of an investment, at first. However, it is a high quality that should last you a life time and the blade replacements are so cheap! Before my first use, I watched a couple of YouTube videos on how to use properly and safely. I have found that short strokes with a delicate pressure works perfectly. I did nick my legs during the first use, but like I said there is a learning curve. My advice would be to use our when you have plenty of time to do it carefully. I take my razor apart are each use and rinse thoroughly and store in a dry place. This has proven to keep the razor and blade in top shape for long lasting use. Highly recommend!
It’s good for finer hair, but does not do a thorough job on thick hair. I’ve contacted the company about a return but have never heard back. Pretty disappointed in quality of product and service.
Fresh out of the package with a brand new blade, I tried shaving in the shower and the razor missed a lot of hair and took multiple times to get make the slightest difference, but still no clean shave. I tried shaving dry with no water, no shaving soap, just legs lightly lotioned, and it worked. Strange? Still playing around with it to make it work because this is the next step in my zero waste journey! Maybe I need some tips or tricks. As of right now, it works best out of the shower, and not the first blade in the package, but the second.
What a great razor swap! It is much easier to use than I thought it would be and at first I was slightly intimidated. The housing for the blade does a great job covering it so I don't cut myself and the blades are sharp enough to where I don't feel the drag/pull while shaving like I did with a disposable razor. Don't be afraid to try this razor, it is totally worth the investment, and now I never have to buy another razor, ever!
This shaving "soap" bar is excellent! It foams up enough to feel a bit like shaving cream, and it leaves my skin softer than any shaving cream out of a can ever did! Plus container left behind!
Used it with my favorite leave-in conditioner on my 2c-3b hair and it left a nice cast with way less product than I normally use. I made a thicker gel by very gradually adding in water and then sprayed more water into my hair to help distribute. Definitely recommend trying to break up the solids before adding water since my mixture ended up a little chunky, but still worked well.
Overall really great product that I can see myself permanently replacing my old gels with once I've used them up!
I am SO happy I decided to purchase this product a few months ago! I am always looking for ways to simplify my curly hair care routine and as I am a frequent traveller who had plans to go abroad for 3 months, I needed something that worked and that I could bring a bulk amount of with me in my backpacker's pack. And this product is everything I could want and more! I have 2B/2C hair and this product paired with the Eco-Collective organic cocoa butter conditioner bar are a DREAM together! My hair has never looked better - no crunch, just non-frizzy curls that hold! I have a tiny jar with the solid gel powder and another with a small amount of the gel I've made while abroad as well as 2 tins with my shampoo and conditioner bars and BOOM - The ultimate zero-waste minimal travelers hair care routine. I will praise this product forever! Thank you Eco-Collective and Salon Solids!!
I was skeptical at first but this gel makes my 2b/2c hair look awesome without weighing it down. It even refreshed well on day 2/3 with a little water.
I have 3b curly hair and it works just like cantu’s Curling cream. I just use less water than suggested to make the gel thicker.
I was really excited for this product and I think it works well but there are a couple of things that could be added.
My first thought was the powder was really hard to measure because it had been mashed so much it came out like a sheet of paper and I cut it then tried to break it up into a powder. THe boiling process was easy, but I think that I didn't make it strong enough (too watery) because it didn't hold very long.
Love the idea but I need more instruction maybe? I felt a little dumb in my kitchen like hohoho let me make my hair mask.
Also does it go in the fridge? I have been keeping it there haha
These are lovely, I bought 2 packs of 12. After a few washes they have become pretty absorbent, I did have to use a lint brush or fabric shaver after the first wash, as they shed a bit. I put a bin under our sink to collect the used ones, and we wash them about every 2 days or so. Overall these are such a wonderful alternative to regular paper towels, which my family was using a shameful amount of daily. I think we will get a lot of use out of these.
We ordered the lemon pattern and they’re quite beautiful. Cheerful addition to the kitchen. They work well for our needs and are absorbent which is exactly what we wanted.
These unpaper towels were a gift to me and are amazing! Seriously way more absorbent than a paper towel, so cute on my towel holder, and saving trees everyday! Where have I been all this time? Just ordered two sets for friends for birthdays and they love them as much as I do! Did I share that they wash beautifully? Why wouldn’t you want these? Can’t think of one reason! Love love love these and the makeup remover pads too!
I have been trying my best lately to be part of the zero waste movement and Eco Collective makes it pretty darn easy - I can find pretty much anything I "need" like these bamboo utensils! I got these for work so I would eliminate the amount of plastic utensils I use from the office kitchen. Although super convenient to mindlessly grab a plastic fork from the draw it is even more convenient to have a set of my own that only I am using.
They are easy to clean and work great if not better. I mean the spoon is a spoon but in my opinion the fork works way better at forking food than any plastic fork I've used. I have yet to use the knife or chop sticks but all in all a great products and your own carry pouch... yes !
I do temp work and often don't know what the kitchen setup is like at the offices I go to. Some offices don't have dishwashers and only can provide disposable utensils (which are compostable, but that still requires energy from transport). So these utensils are a zero waste lifesaver. They tuck away easily in my bag and now I'm always prepared for whatever lunch I bring or the much needed sushi run on days that aren't going so well. I like that these can get through TSA as well so I don't have to worry about forgetting them in my bag and having them confiscated.
This has been a great brush to have in the sink. The bristles are nice and stiff, so it works really well -- even on things that aren't bottles!
The brush is long enough to reach the bottom of bottles and glasses, but is too flimsy to get enough leverage to scrub. The wire bends before the bristles do. It was not effective for its intended purpose.
I like to reuse old kombucha bottles for my DIY nut milks and other drinks at home, but I couldn't get them thoroughly cleaned with a regular dish brush. This thing gets through the narrow mouth (about an inch wide), and reaches all the way to the bottom! The curved end allows me to scrub the bottoms and sides of the inside of the bottle really well. The bristles are on the stiffer side, so it has good scrubbing power and I think it should last me a long time. I'm also just amazed that there's no plastic whatsoever and the whole thing can be composted & recycled (the wire). I had never found something like it before, so I'm stoked!
I bought this because the bottom of my water bottles were starting to look crusty, and this was unfortunately a purchase I ended up regretting. It smells awful and it doesn't work well as a bottle cleaner. I also tried to research on the company and it seems a bit sketchy... I could not find anything about how and by who these products were actually made by. I hope EcoCollective looks into this and finds a better bottle brush to supply.
I'm very sorry that you didn't love your bottle brush! We thoroughly research the brands we carry at Eco Collective and chose this brand due to their incredible focus on creating unique, plastic free products with sustainably sourced materials.
